Privacy Policy
FriendlyFork (“we”, “us”) provides an AI hostess service for restaurants: we answer a restaurant’s phone line, book its tables and manage its waitlist, and give the restaurant a dashboard to run its floor. This policy explains what information we handle and how.
Information we collect
- Restaurant account data — names, emails, and phone numbers of restaurant owners and staff who use the dashboard.
- Guest data, on behalf of restaurants — when a diner calls or is seated, we process the details needed to serve them: name, phone number, party size, reservation times, allergy notes, and visit history. This data belongs to the restaurant you interacted with; we process it as their service provider.
- Call data — calls answered by the AI hostess may be recorded and transcribed to complete your request (for example, booking your table) and to improve reliability. The AI identifies itself as an automated assistant at the start of every call.
- Technical data — standard logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) used for security and to keep the service running.
How we use it
- To answer calls, book tables, manage waitlists, and take orders for the restaurant you contacted.
- To send transactional texts the guest requests or expects — booking confirmations, reminders, “your table is ready” and “your order is ready” messages. Reply rates apply per your carrier; reply X to opt out of a restaurant’s messages.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
What we don’t do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not market other restaurants to a restaurant’s guests. A restaurant’s guest book is its own.
- We do not use guest data for advertising.
Sharing
We share data only with the vendors needed to run the service (hosting, database, telephony/AI voice, and SMS providers), each bound to use it solely to provide their service to us, and with the restaurant whose line you called. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Your choices & rights
California residents have rights under the CCPA, including to know, correct, and delete personal information. Guests can also ask the restaurant they visited to update or remove their guest-book entry. To exercise any right, email haydenhamer@friendlyfork.org — we respond within 30 days.
Retention & security
We keep data only as long as needed to provide the service or as the restaurant directs, and protect it with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, and row-level security in our database.
